Default metric discussion ( pros and cons ) now also on forum

I've opened up an interesting topic on the weatherforum of which I'm a
moderator about the preferred standard of measurements . I want to see
which system would best be used as international standard as I think
both imperial and metric systems are seriously flawed ( metric system
is hardly applicable in space for instance ).
