AN UPDATE:

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR
SOUTHWEST, WEST CENTRAL, EASTERN AND NORTHEASTERN MINNESOTA FOR THIS
AFTERNOON, TONIGHT AND TOMORROW. SNOW WILL DEVELOPE THIS AFTERNOON AND
BECOME HEAVY BY EARLY EVENING. WINDS WILL INCREASE FROM 15-25 THIS
AFTERNOON TO 25-40 MPH BY LATE TONIGHT. BLIZZARD OR NEAR BLIZZARD CONDTIONS
CAN BE EXPECTED TO DEVELOPE AS HEAVY SNOW COMBINES WITH STRONG WINDS THIS
EVENING. TOTAL STORM ACCUMULATIONS IN THE WARNING AREA SHOULD RANGE FROM 8
TO AS MUCH AS 20 INCHES IN SOME LOCATIONS. THE HEAVIEST AMOUNTS OF SNOW
WILL MOST LIKELY OCCUR IN CENTRAL AND EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA AND ALONG AND
EAST OF THE BUFFALO RIDGE. AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM 3-8 INCHES TONIGHT,
INADDITION TO 5-12 INCHES TOMORROW. MORE SNOW IS POSSIBLE TOMORROW NIGHT
INTO MONDAY SO ACCUMULATIONS COULD BE EVEN GREATER AS A RESULT.
TEMPERATURES WILL HOLD STEADY IN THE LOWER 30'S TODAY IN EASTERN MINNESOTA
AND DROP INTO THE TEENS BY TOMORROW. IN WESTERN AND NORTHEASTERN MINNESOTA,
TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE 20'S TODAY AND DROP INTO THE LOW TEENS BY
TOMORROW. WIND CHILL VALUES COULD BE WELL BELOW ZERO AS WINDS INCREASE
TONIGHT AND TOMORROW. THE WARNING INCLUDES MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, ST.CLOUD,
WILLMAR, MARSHALL, BRAINERD, MORRIS, DULUTH, HIBBING AND JUST EAST IN
INTERNATIONAL FALLS ALONG THE CANADIAN BORDER.

A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR EXTEME SOUTHERN MINNESOTA AND
WEST CENTRAL WISCONSON FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF HEAVY SNOW LATE TONIGHT AND
TOMORROW. HOWEVER, TEMPERATURES REMAIN ABOVE FREEZING IN THESE AREAS AND
THIS COULD KEEP STORM ACCUMULATIONS DOWN QUITE A BIT. STILL, THE
POSSIBILITY FOR 6 OR MORE INCHES IN SNOW IS THERE AND POSSIBLY UP TO 10 IN
SOME AREAS.

A WINTER STORM WARNING ALSO REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR EXTREME WESTERN SOUTH
DAKOTA, STORM TOTALS THERE WILL BE FROM 5-8 INCHES. THIS WARNING INCLUDES
WATERTOWN, HURON, MILBANK AND SISSLETON. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS
IN EFFECT FOR NORTH EASTERN, CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA FOR 3-5
INCHES OF SNOW THROUGH TOMORROW. NEAR BLIZZARD OR BLIZZARD CONDITIONS MAY
EXSIST AS WELL IN PARTS OF THE AREA AS WINDS COULD EXCEED 40 MPH.


THIS IS A DANGEROUS WINTER STORM WITH THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE IMPASSIBLE
DRIVING CONDITIONS IN ADDITION TO DANGEROUS WINDCHILL VAULES. PLEASE STAY
