I have implemented some changes to the European Data, starting from
the 1st December 2003.

A few more countries now report 24 hour rainfall in the 06:00 synop
for the previous day. Subsequently, ALL countries
will have rainfall at this same 24 hour period 06:00 to 06:00,
regardless of whether they report the 24 hour rainfall
or only the 12 hourly rainfall, 18:00, 06:00, as the UK do. So the 24
hour periods will marry up together.

As a guide, here is a list of the countries that now report 24 hour
rainfall (7****), I have indicated what countries have changed as
'NEW'.

Sweden - mixed
Finland - mixed
Holland - 'NEW'
France
Spain - 'NEW'
Germany
Czech Rep
Slovakia - 'NEW'
Poland
Hungary
Slovenia - 'NEW'
Bosnia - 'NEW'
Croatia - 'NEW'
Malta
Turkey
Cyprus - 'NEW'

All remaining countries rainfall is made up of adding up the 18:00 +
06:00 12 hourly rainfall totals.


Beyond Europe the following countries have also started reporting 24
hour rainfall that didn't before.

Asia - Japan, Nepal 'NEW'

Australia (most) & New Zealand. 'NEW'

I now also show capital and main City's/Towns in bold for ease of
viewing.
