Does anyone know the workings of auto outside thermometers. I know they
are not that accurate but they appear to read sort of an average temperature
or either only take a reading occasionally?

Are you referring to the radio controlled sensors that transmit info to an
inside unit that reads from 3 sensors ?? Within 300 ft ??
