Greetings Folks,
I have a question which I have not seen addressed here before, and didn't see anything like this in the Google archives either. I'm curious if doppler radar units are available for purchase anywhere? Next year, I'll be retiring and moving quite far in the sticks. I'd just like to be able to receive my own weather information. There are no NWS stations that can be received where I'm going and I don't know any other way to obtain some weather information. I'll be setting up a Davis station, but what else can I do? I think it would be pretty grand to be able to 'see' any approaching systems. Could an aviation unit be modified for this? If anyone has any experience with this, please post your comments here. Thanks much, Hap. |
