I have no idea what the actual facts are but this year the south west
of Europe has suffered devastation from France to southern Spain. I
have not heard stories of the deaths involved.

As with weather perenially, one man's meat is another man's poison.

It is inevitable that when there is a severe hurricane or a super
typhoon, the UK gets what some here view as pleasant weather. It is
usually humid and sunny with some thunderstorms whenever the cyclones
-in the Americas or Asia, touch home.

Personally I could manage without that. It does tend to set up mild
weather overall, though. Long periods of it.

Or is there another explanation for that sort of thing?
