Default It's not the NWS Fault

So here in the Twin Cities, MN we had a brief F2 tornado touch down. Well
now folks are going after the NWS for not issuing a tornado warning.

My thoughts on this, the NWS issued a tornado watch for that evening, the
NWS also issues a Serve Thunderstorm Warning for the area that was hit,
every serve storm has the chance to produce a tornado with out any warning.
The weather is unpredictable, laying blame on the NWS for lack of people
paying attention to the weather is not the NWS fault.

Any one else have thoughts on this?

Mark Dayton (Democrat Senator from Minnesota) wants an investigation of the
NWS about this.

That is correct and even some of media wanted to place blame.
I actually called the Senator Office and my views on this.

If by "folks" you meant looney Senator Mark Dayton, you'd be right.

Screw Dayton, as a former Minnesotan (living in Kentucky) I say this from
the bottom of my heart. I'm sorry my home state was struck by a tornado,
it's unfortunate but weather is weather, always unpredictable to a certain
extent. Had the NOAA known about the tornoado, they would have issued a
warning, it's that simple. If you want to blame someone blame God (although
it's not his fault either)!

I live in Louisville Kentucky and we just received about 10 inches of rain
overnight. My basement flooded but I am fortunate, living in a higher part
of town, not suffering nearly as much as some. I also have an inground pool
(old as it is). When I went to bed, the water level was a good 7 inches or
more below the top of the pool, I didn't figure on getting 7 inches of rain
in 5 hours, but alas, we did. I woke up at 3 in the morning (fortunately
and I don't know why because I never wake up until my alarm goes off). I
decided to check the pool and it was nearly over the top. I then went to my
basement and saw that several inches of water had accumulated. Now, I'm not
real happy about this as I lost some items that can't be replaced
(yearbooks, old family photos and baseball cards) but I'll be damned if I'm
going to blame the weather service although they only called for up to 3
inches. Since I had to drain down the pool twice (despite the reported
totals) I am inlcined to think we received nearly 12 inches. No one's fault
but if anyone's to blame, it me, for not keeping my items in a safer place
and not having a automatic drain of sorts on my pool. No one here is
blaming the weather service for underestimating rain amounts, that's
ludicrous. People need to be more vigilant and pay more attention to
watches (be it tornado, severe thunderstorm, flood or winter storm) as they
are put in place for a reason. The NOAA warning system is not (and will
never be) perfect.
