I'm looking for an antenna to attach to one or more of my several
radios that pick up NOAA weather broadcasts to strengthen reception (specifically, a Sony ICF-CD863V which has a wire FM antenna that doesn't work very well for receiving weather freqs, and an Oregon Scientific WR-196 which has an antenna jack on the back but I have no idea what type of antenna to connect to it and neither did Oregon Scientific when I called them, and a Radio Shack SW-100 multi-band analog tuner). I have found a Midland 18-259W antenna (on Amazon.com) that seems like it might work but all the websites I've checked don't give me much info about the connection to the radio. Does anyone know if it is a plug-in jack or a bare wire connection. If the latter, how would I hook it up to either of my weather band receivers? Or if someone knows of a better antenna, please let me know. Thanks, Carol |
