Hi
I am looking for a gif that can source weather information from a web site. Is it possible to get such a gif imaging anywhere? I wanted the Animationin the gif to be a live weather report ... I want file to be GIF only. Thanks Nilesh |

With Windows it is a simple matter of saving the file as an image in My pictures then choosing to open the file with Paint or any image processing utility. My Documents My Pictures Highlight image saved (Wherever you saved it. It may be stored elsewhere if you are not careful.) Right click on the mouse over it and choose Open With. (I use Paint) then Save File As and either change the whole name or just change the last three letters in the file. Linux works in a completely different way and I don't know any more about that, sorry. Once you get the image open, though (in The Gimp or PSP for example) the method is identical. It is just a matter of saving it as a *****.gif file. If you are having difficulty in storing a gif file it may be that the site is set up in a way that prevents it. A very secure site such as this one: https://www.fnmoc.navy.mil/efs/efs.html will not let me save the loops for some reason but this one: http://weather.unisys.com/images/sat_sfc_map_loop.html lets me save the image loop as Save Image. It couldn't be easier. Both are gif images. If you are trying to upload a picture of your own and the software that came with the camera is using a different default, you might get the right advice from a forum the utility set up. Or you can upload it to Flickr or wherewver then d/l it again and do as the above. I really don't know enough about that sort of thing. Good luck. |

The program downloads each individual gif frame and displays it as an animation. If you right click "save as" all you're going to get is whatever individual gif is currently displayed. Those ARE NOT animated gifs that you are viewing. A wiser application of the application would use the default in an enquiry. But of course in fluid dynamics, as everyone knows, weather and earthquakes as well as all the rest of the planetary phenomena caused by the juxtapositioning of the sun and moon have no mutual interplay. Can never have such. Either that or Isaac Newton knew what he was talking about and Albert Einstein was just a chancer. |
