ACTIVE STORMS
Jangmi (West Pacific) Mekkhala (West Pacific) 21W (West Pacific) Laura (Atlantic) http://www.stormbanner.com/ http://satellite.ehabich.info/hurricane-watch.htm The end of a long reign of Low Pressure systems over the Davis Strait to Siberia: 2008/09/29 5.3 M. 16:11 Kermadec Islands, N Z. 7.0 M. 15:20 Kermadec Islands, N Z. So this spell starts with a slate fairly well cleaned and a spate of new storms along with changes to older ones. The sequence of Lows across the North Atlantic will presumably no longer scoot up the channel between Iceland and Greenland but once more renew old haunts along the 60th parallel. I presume. I dare say we can start to look forwards to some tropical disturbances in southern climes from now on? We will have to wait and see. This week's spell then is a repeat in many ways to the one earlier in the month: September the 29th at 08:12 compares closely to within 6 hours of September the 7th at 14:04: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/phase/phase2001gmt.html The weather in Britain has changed form the glorious to the dismal once more. Drizzle here in Stoke on Trent from the afternoon. Spoiled or what? ******* |
