![]() Hopefully my terminology "ground clutter" is correct. From the (USA) National Weather Service website... Short Range Images -- Rainfall -- 1 Hour Total. I use it whenever there is rain in the area. Sometimes there is a false positive rain indication. I guess that's called ground clutter, but in any case that's what I'm talking about. It usually looks different than rain and the indication is probably never higher than the first level of intensity. What causes ground clutter on radar? A cool front is blowing through the area and leaves are falling down. A look at the radar shows ground clutter. Can falling leaves cause ground clutter? Dust? Thanks. -- The first big front wheel rollerblades. http://www.flickr.com/photos/27532210@N04/2565924423/ |
