A massive winter storm is headed for New England with blizzard conditions and
2-3 feet of snow possible in many spots, according to Fox25 Chief Meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz. The Fox25 Weather Team says the storm will begin dropping snow in the Boston area Monday afternoon. With the snow starting to fall by 3 p.m., expect there to be 2-4 inches of snow on the ground by midnight. The storm picks up in intensity after midnight with blizzard conditions Tuesday morning and much of the day. "This storm still has to form, so, right now, we are closely tracking all available data and models," according to Fox25 Meteorologist Shiri Spear. "With that said, more than a foot of snow is highly likely for most of the Boston area." The most dangerous conditions will be in the early morning hours on Tuesday through the morning commute. The Fox25 Weather Team is forecasting 8-12 inches of snow to fall between midnight and 7 a.m. Tuesday. The storm will still be cranking through lunch time with 10-20 inches of snow on the ground in many areas by that time. As it pulls away in the afternoon, the FOX 25 Weather Team forecasts a widespread 18-24 inches with some isolated spots getting up to 3 feet of snow. "I've heard the term 'historic' used in discussing this storm, but right now, our warning is for everyone to prepare for a powerful Nor'easter that could cause blizzard conditions, especially in Eastern Massachusetts," Fox25 Chief Meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz said. Fox25 Meteorologists Shiri Spear, Sarah Wroblewski, and Fred Campagna are all closely tracking this storm as it forms along with Chief Meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz. Fox25 will keep you updated on air, on the Fox25 News app and our new Fox25 Weather app. We'll also have updates for you on the Fox25 Facebook and Twitter pages. ....
