Tropical Storms Leslie, Nadine Brewing in Atlantic as Michael Heads to
Florida

hile Hurricane Michael makes its way to the coast of Florida along the
Gulf, two other storms are churning in the Atlantic. Tropical Storm
Leslie and Tropical Storm Nadine were both making progress over the
Atlantic and Nadine was heading in the direction of the United States.

Neither storm was a threat, or projected to be a threat in the coming
days, but they were still on the National Hurricane Center’s radar as
storms to watch and monitor. Nadine’s maximum sustained wind speeds
Tuesday morning were just 40 miles per hour, not enough for it to be
classified as a hurricane, but enough for it to be a tropical storm.

The storm was expected to be well east of the Caribbean islands on
Saturday and a bit north of them as well. It was traveling west
north-west at a speed of nine miles per hour. Neither of the storms were
prompting any hurricane or tropical storm watches or warnings in any
area on land. Leslie was expected to travel south south-east at a rate
of 13 mph in the direction of Africa, but wasn’t prompting any watches
or warnings on land either.

Hurricane season in the Atlantic officially began June 1 and was set to
