Did they come up with the answer on the "accordian thing"?
"Jim" wrote in message news:XznSa.103422$H17.31661@sccrnsc02... Anyone catch a Red Sox game on NESN the last two-three evenings? There's some new weather apparatus at Fenway Park, and the NESN commentators have been talking about it. One of the cameras has shown the gear a few times. They've been wondering what the "accordion thing" is. They were also trying to figure out the difference between "dew point" and "humidity" tonight. : Did they come up with the answer on the "accordian thing"? I don't think so. It was a pretty good game, despite some questionable calls (oops, sorry, wrong newsgroup), and as it went on, they were more focused on the game than the irrelevant chit-chat. I found an image on the web with a similar device. Look at http://www.delta-t.co.uk/image/weather.gif. I think they were referring to the component that looks like about six stacked, inverted, bowls. (I think the Fenway device had more "bowls" in the stack.) Jim P.S. while searching Google for weather station images, I came across a cute pictu http://www.coastalenvironmental.com/polarbears1.jpg -- This article was auto-posted by the ne.weather.moderated Weatherbot program. Aren't those "stacked bowls" a housing for temperature and humidity sensors?
