60 cm is about 2 feet. Wow, they really get nailed up there on these
bombing coastals. --- Blizzard warning for Halifax Metro and Halifax county west continued This is a warning that blizzard conditions are occurring and will Persist through today. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements. A very intense low pressure system south of Nova Scotia will move to lie just southeast of Cape Breton Island by this evening. This storm has already brought heavy snow and blowing snow to the entire province. Northeast winds of 60 km/h gusting to as much as 100 km/h today will give blizzard conditions throughout the district. Snowfall amounts of near 50 centimetres have already fallen in southwestern areas of the province with total snowfalls likely reaching over 60 to 70 centimetres in some areas before it tapers off this evening. Over the eastern shore and eastern Cape Breton the snow is forecast to mix with or change to freezing rain this afternoon then back to snow in the evening.
