I'm organizing a set of presentations on weather for our local Boy Scouts (a
troop in Dutchess county, NY), and I'd dearly love to be able to arrange a tour for them of a NWS office, or a university weather station, or something similar. I've looked into the Albany NWS site - I don't see any obvious contact for tours or public relations (other than weather spotters). I'm also looking into the SUNY Albany Meteorlogy program - again not sure there who the best contact would be. Has anyone here done anything like this, who can direct me, or who has other ideas? You are probably looking for something more technical, but you may want
to contact a local TV station/meteorologist. They would probably be willing to set something up and they usually have good contact info on their websites. Maybe even an e-mail to on-air met asking if they knew of programs available in the area.....
