Default boat radar license for inland wx ?

Hi there, thanks for reading this.

Many years ago while at the Univ. Hawaii (Manoa) Dept. of Meteorology, I
set up a boat radar
for use by students, (before next rad) and modified it to also do RHI
with great results.

The license was obtained from the vendor of the radar and there was no
problem as it was
under the Univ. for education and research.

I would like to get a small radar to put on the roof of my house and
thus need to obtain a license for
personal use.

Has any one done this ?

Thanks

Dan
