Here's the latest from the Idsos RAW cherry picking..

USHCN Temperature Record of the Week: Wells, Nevada

[cut]

It would be of interest to know what the Idsos did with the data
between 1934 and 1939. Since I can't access to the NCDC raw
data, I'm at a loss on that one.

USHCN data, including raw data, is available he
ftp://ftp.ncdc.noaa.gov/pub/data/ushcn/

If you want raw data the files you will need a
README.TXT
hcn_doe_mean_data.Z
station.inventory.Z

I could be wrong, but I think you want "mean temperature"
"Areal Edited Value" data, or the "3 " records.

Thanks, Roger.

I knew that the data was available, but, to say the least, it's a
big file. In compressed form, it's almost 20 mb. To look at it,
I would need to parse the data into a database program and probably
write a program to access it. I could do it and may get around to
it after I am able to move into my solar house. I'm nearly there,
with some interior finishing yet to complete. Almost done with hanging
the sheet rock and we're doing the mud work. Details, details....

Below is the code for my Metal BASIC program that reads
USHCN data files and reports on them. Good luck the new
solar house, you are a pioneer.

Thanks again Roger.

I started programming in FORTRAN and tried my hand at "C" on one project.
My last efforts were done with the FOXPRO database engine running in DOS.
I like the idea of building a complete database, so I can work with the
data directly. However, having your code to look at may help if I get
really involved with it.
