--- ISN - INFO ---
- Special Issue of the Month -
______________________________

This Special Issue of the ISN Current World Affairs Newsletter is
dedicated to natural disasters, with a focus on earthquakes and
tsunamis.

The first and second sections provide links to basic information on the
nature of earthquakes and tsunamis and how they originate, on their
effects, and on measuring natural disasters, including interactive
tools, maps, and statistics.

The last set of links offers information on the issue of early warning.
Since the tsunami disaster in the Indian Ocean that caused more than
200'000 deaths on 26 December 2004, there have been new discussions
on the necessity of an early warning system for the Indian Ocean.

All links have been added to the ISN Links Library
