Does anyone know of a BAMs index accessible for free) on the internet?. I am
asking because I am looking for an article that supposedly appeared a few years ago on anticylonic funnel clouds. Even better would be a reference to the article itself (assuming it exists, of course) |

I looked and couldn't find anything that looked like what you're talking about. Harold -- Harold Brooks Head, Mesoscale Applications Group NOAA/National Severe Storms Laboratory Thanks, Dr. Brooks. And thank you for doing the look up for me. Regards Mike |

Also: when you do the AMS search- change "anticylonic" to "anticyclonic"
and "funnel clouds" to "tornadoes". I get three hits that are germane. 1. John P. Monteverdi, Warren Blier, Greg Stumpf, Wilfred Pi and Karl Anderson. 2001: First WSR-88D Documentation of an Anticyclonic Supercell with Anticyclonic Tornadoes: The Sunnyvale–Los Altos, California, Tornadoes of 4 May 1998. Monthly Weather Review: Vol. 129, No. 11, pp. 2805–2814. 2. John M. Brown and Kevin R. Knupp. 1980: The Iowa Cyclonic - Anticyclonic Tornado Pair and Its Parent Thunderstorm. Monthly Weather Review: Vol. 108, No. 10, pp. 1626–1646 3. C.R. Snider. 1976: An Anticyclonic Tornado. Monthly Weather Review: Vol. 104, No. 9, pp. 1186–1187. The one exception is the Bulletin of the AMS (BAMS) -- these articles can be downloaded without a subscription. David |
