Dear List,
I am trying to understand the literature of fitting Markov Chain model to daily Rainfall data. I need to know how can i calculate the observed and expected frequencies of different lengths of "Wet Spell", "Dry Spell", "Wet-Dry cycle", and "Dry-Wet cycle" (a day with greater or equal to 0.1 mm of precipitation is being considered as a wet day) for the rainfall data, such as the following: http://www.angelfire.com/ab5/get5/raw.data.txt where observations are for each day during 1989-2002 measured in mm. Any direction, suggestion, references, analysis tips regarding this will be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time. ____________________________ Mohammad Ehsanul Karim e-mail: web: http://snipurl.com/ehsan ____________________________ |
