Is the current enormous high pressure area over midwest Canada a repeat
of last years "Omega block" phenomena?

Well, the forecasts don't have it remaining stationary,
so I guess the answer is no.

You're telling me! Yesterday it was up to 29°C in the shade here. Now
it's 12°C in the shade ... down to 4°C last night...
