Default where is prevailing wind data?

Hello,

I need prevailing wind data for the USA.

Once, long ago, I found it on some ftp server
but now it is evading me.

Can anyone assist?

is good, just tables, no maps though (but you can get them in any decent
atlas). It needs acrobat reader.
