Default Three blows in the north-western Pacific

G'day mates,

There are currently three good blows in the NW Pacific: Typhoon
Saomai and tropical storms Bopha and Maria.

If you have a squiz at some of the images at the JTWC, you can see all
three on the one screen. They're between 18 to 30N and 126 to 138E.

Try this link to the visual image at the JTWC for 02:30Z, 7 Aug 2006:

Hmm... Bit nasty that one. Try it this way:

Alternatively, if you look at the current (10:30Z) satellite imagery
for TS Bopha you can see all three at a bit bigger scale:

Cheers, Phred.

Beautiful and inexplicable.

I wonder what causes them.
