As we all know, the standard radiosondes are launched twice a day, and
as they flow up and away from the station, they take the measurements of temp, dewpoint, and wind. Depending on how fast the winds are aloft, the balloon can end up hundreds of miles away from the actual sounding site. Doesn't this mean that the actual location of the upper-air information being reported is hundreds of miles from the sounding site? And is there any correction input into the models to account for this 'drift' in the data report? ===== Raymond C.
