The following two URLs lead to graphs of warming
rates by month for each hemisphere. http://members.cox.net/rcoppock/Northern%20Seasons.jpg http://members.cox.net/rcoppock/Southern%20Seasons.jpg Note that there is more warming during winter than summer in both hemispheres. While this result fits with greenhouse gas forcing quite nicely, it is very troubling for many alternate attempts to explain the source of the recent warming. This result was predicted by Svante Arrhenius in is famous 1896 paper, "On the Influence of Carbonic Acid in the Air upon the Temperature of the Ground." The data for the above graphs came from: http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/tabledata/NH.Ts.txt http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/tabledata/SH.Ts.txt |

Good, that should gives us better, more settled weather overall. As well as a long growing season. |

Long growing seasons for insect pests and toxic molds, which would have otherwise died in winter's freeze. On the Pacific Coast we are losing entire forests to the Pine Bark Beetle because winter freezes no longer limit their populations. A local Boy Scout camp, once hidden deep in a forest, now has no living trees. |

![]() "Roger Coppock" Long growing seasons for insect pests and toxic molds, Against toxic molds the SO2 is the best Stop lowering it and your forest will start to bloom. which would have otherwise died in winter's freeze. On the Pacific Coast we are losing entire forests to the Pine Bark Beetle because winter freezes no longer limit their populations. A local Boy Scout camp, once hidden deep in a forest, now has no living trees. After the WWII (when SO2 content was high) between Kraków and the near forest were build the gigantic ironwork. All smokes from that plant were falling down on the forest. And this additional SO2 made excellent good job. S* |

Joe Fischer In the mountains, around our local Boy Scout camp one could reasonably rely on a winter freeze, until the last decade. Fewer winter freezes are reported from here clear into Canada. This has led to bark beetle and Mormon Cricket population increases. The media and Al Gore are all excited about sea level rise. In the several centuries it takes for that to happen, we will see many many problems like this. IMHO the sum of these many less publicized problems will far outweigh the damage from sea level rise, and they will happen sooner. We won't have to wait long until AGW starts messing with food production. If it isn't already. |
