Default How did they measure temps in the early 1900s??

People keep saying we're living in the "warmest" period but we measure
temps, and other things, with very sophisticated devices compared to
those times in the early 1900s.

This isn't mentioned or discussed because you'd see clearly that those
temps in the early 1900s were likely far far warmer than has been
recorded, and damn more hotter than NOW.

It's more lies on top of lies already told.

Once all the truth about so-called Global Warming is know we will all
be spending 10-20% more in taxes and greenhouse-surcharges.

If you think we have a lot of poor now then you haven't seen nothing
yet. GreenHeads will take the middle-class into working poor and
working poor straight to poverty. But we all need to remember it's
because we all got to pay a little, like the rich who won't notice it
but all us millions will notice it.

Liberalism - The idea that the only way to fix poverty is for everyone
to be poor so they understand it.

Better dead than sharing sacrifice equally, eh?

Please tell us what great advances have been made in the past 100
years in thermometers.

Although satellites are used to measure temperatures over the oceans
away from the shipping lanes, and the LIMITED number of automated
surface observing stations WITHOUT observers present use electronic
sensors. Everybody else uses the same classic thermometer that was
first described by Heron of Alexandria in the 2nd century BC. Mercury
in glass was the most common, however, to improve accuracy and range
most sites have converted to liguid in glass thermometers.

Moving away from science to politics

It has been consistently the conservatives who have spent the
taxpayers money on themselves. Under Reagan the government debit
swelled and as a middle class taxpayer I had less in my pocket, now
under Bush the debit has once again swelled out of control while Bush
and his cronies raid the US treasury (Haliburton and KBR are war
profiteers) and I have even less in my pocket than under Reagan. Seems
that under the liberals everybody pays their fair share rather than
just the poor and middle class. It is the conservatives that will
take the middle-class into working poor and working poor straight to
poverty

They have no only raided the treasury, they have also stolen from the
future wage earners by doubling the national debt and pocketing that
money too. The BCF are anarchist pirates who should be tried then
executed as the traitorous hoodlums that they are.

All the following are meantioned and discussed:

By the early 1900s the general method for measuring temperature and for eliminating biases
was understood and standard were being set. For example, the use of Stevenson Screens, the
height of the measuring instrument and placement of the equipment. Various thermometers
when calibrated every six months or so are accurate enough for climate change data.

Generally speaking a change in the type of temperature sensor means data are then
adjusted to take care of any bias by the change.
