Satellite images at:www.woksat.info/wwp.html orwww.btinternet.com/~wokingham.weather/wwp.html The flora of Funa. Beautiful in a fear inspiring way. Now all that remains is to reduce it to mathematics. Speaking of which: If you move the grid over the centre and suppose a tangent on the arm to the north, it is something like 45 degrees -within the constraints of parallax imposed by the varying heights of the phenomenon, the satellite's angle and the shape of my CRT monitor. And on the arm to the west it makes an angle more like 67 1/2. Leaving aside any aberration from a perfect spiral, anyone care to guess at the degree of coincidence that the angles involved are so closely related to each other? |
