Default Do As I Say, Not As I Do

Hypocrisy Spreads To Congress

But the public isn't clamoring for a carbon-free, "sustainable" future.

In America the public, collectively, are morons. They're used to being
selfish children. If they weren't, Congress would be crucified and lining
Pennsylvania Avenue, and they'd still be pouring gas on the fire they threw
the executive branch in.

Voters want policymakers to solve today's energy problems now through
sensible market solutions.

Like the ones that follow...

Should this Gas Relief Act become law, it would authorize the federal
apparatus to expand public transportation; provide incentives for
workers to use mass transit, bicycles, carpools or their feet to get to
their jobs; work locally to create walkable and "bikeable" communities;
educate Americans so they can make the "right" transportation and
housing choices; and establish "location efficient mortgages" to make it
more affordable to own homes near public transit.

Sounds good. Your problem is what now?

These are the people - or in some cases representatives of people - who
want $8 a gallon gasoline so we'll get out of our cars, turn off our air
conditioners, dim our lights, strangle our commerce and impose a global
asceticism in a post-capitalism wilderness.

Count your blessings. Some want $18 per gallon, and they want to use the last
of it to drop off folks like you in the middle of the ocean. Capitalism has
some horrendous skeletons in its' closet...
Remaining untapped petroleum reserve isn't worth going after, it won't fix
anything economically or environmentally.
Hydrogen is the future. Suck it up.
