Is it just me, or are there more ice storms these days than there were,
say, 20 or 50 years ago? I took a look at the FEMA website list of disasters (records since 1953), and it seems there have certainly been more declared ice storm disasters in the last 15 years than between 1953 and 1983, though I know this is a lousy proxy for real data. Where would I look to find serious data on the occurrence of ice storms? Is there global data? It would be interesting to see when and where major ice storms have occurred since, say, 1950. Thanks. |
