"Planetary K-index Now: Kp= 0 quiet" The face of the Sun is without blemish: http://www.spaceweather.com/images20...63rrjnvl f7c3 Please visit: http://blog.nj.com/southjersey_impac...SolarCycle.jpg The right panel shows the face of the Sun as it looked on a good day during the late Modern Warm Period. Sunspots are the apparent size of craters on the moon. The left panel shows a spotless Sun as it looks today. Please write to Al Gore so that Al knows that the Sun is not living up to his religious expectations. Al Gore is a divinity school dropout. George Carlin had a better grasp of the true nature of God's creation, than does Al Gore. Compared to the Sun, Jupiter is the size of a pea, earth is the size of a grain of sand. World Bank chief says global economy in "dangerous times" Updated: Thursday, March 12, 2009 12:30GMT-7:30AM/EST Washington, 12 March (IranVNC)-World Bank President Robert Zoellick warned of a worsening global economic crisis, telling the London-based Daily Mail newspaper that economic output was likely to shrink by 1-2 percent this year. "My guess is that growth will probably fall 1 to 2 percent," he told the paper in its Thursday edition, reports Reuters. Noting that such negative growth has not been seen since the 1930s, he said: "So these are serious and dangerous times." Zoellick also said that trade would likely fall at its fastest rate in 80 years, adding that Eastern Europe was especially at risk. Leaders of the Group of 20 rich and developing nations, who are due to meet in London on 2 April, should focus on resolving problems in the banking system rather than additional fiscal measures to jumpstart the global economy, Zoellick suggested. "Stimulus plans will be like a sugar high unless you fix the banking system," he told the paper, according to Reuters. Zoellick's remarks come on the heels of a warning by the head of the International Monetary Fund, Dominique Strauss-Khan, that the world had entered a "Great Recession", London's Telegraph daily reports. "The IMF expects global growth to slow below zero this year, the worst performance in our lifetimes," he said on Wednesday. Sources: Reuters, Telegraph newspaper |
