Obama is poison to Al Gore
Posted: April 18, 2009, 7:24 PM by Lawrence Solomon Climate change skepticism has soared under Obama's presidency, with only one third of American likely voters now blaming humans for climate change, according to a Rasmussen poll released today. In contrast, 48% believe that long term planetary trends are responsible, 7% blame other non-man-made factors, and 11% aren’t sure. The plummeting support for Al Gore’s thesis – the lowest ever – is a complete reversal from one year ago, when 47% blamed humans and only 34% saw long-term planetary trends as the culprits. The rise in climate change scepticism, and decline in pinning the blame on humans, tracks Obama’s assumption of power. In December, one month after his defeat of John McCain in the presidential race, the number of Americans who blamed people dropped to 43%. By February, the figure had dropped to 38% and it now rests at 34% Why has Al Gore’s position lost so much credibility with the American public? While the Rasmussen poll does not explore this question, two Obama factors could be at play. First, public hostility toward George Bush and the Republicans likely expressed itself in part as hostility toward global warming scepticism, with which Bush and the Republicans were identified. As soon as the Republicans lost power, many in the public lost their fervour in opposing climate change scepticism. Second, the recession, combined with proposals from the new Obama administration to start taxing carbon in one form or another, gave the public new reason to question whether carbon dioxide really is the demon that climate change doomsayers claim. Upon investigation, the public would have found little to support the doomsayer case. |

They could all believe 100% that CO2 doesn't cause AGW. The EPA has official determined that it does. They found a consensus of the "right" scientist and an international panel evaluating the situation has proved beyond any doubt that "green house" gases cause AGW and CO2 is a particularly bad culprit. This finding has triggered pollution laws that now give total authority to the Obama administration to shut down offending industries, to broker the trading of "carbon indulgences" and to add large taxes to your gasoline or electricity to cover the costs of the AGW control. So forget about Obama and Algore being on different sides. They are NOT. And now Obama has given Goreites the power they need to save the world. Proof will be in some years when we will all notice that because of the vast sums we spent controlling AGW, that the climate change of the earth will not have reached the "tipping point" and killed us all. In fact my guess is that the money will "buy" us a graph that is no more than slowing rising at the same rate it's been rising since the ice age ended. So that means we will have all been "saved". So lets all be thankful that men of the intelligence and stature of Obama and Nobel Prize winning Algore have had the guts to declare the AGW debate OVER before it's too late. Your opinion of AGW no longer means ****. |

Obama does not have the guns to enforce his decrees. The First American Civil War (1861-1865): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Civil_War The beginning of the US oil industry (1859): From: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petroleum#History "The US petroleum industry began with Edwin Drake's drilling of a 69-foot (21 m) oil well in 1859, on Oil Creek near Titusville, Pennsylvania, for the Seneca Oil Company (originally yielding 25 barrels per day (4.0 m^3/d), by the end of the year output was at the rate of 15 barrels per day (2.4 m^3/d))." ========== It is no accident, that cheap energy made the energy of black slaves economically redundant and The First American Civil War followed the discovery of oil at Titusville, Pennsylvania by only two years. It is a simple example of economic determinism, science that Obama ignores at his own risk. |

Which reminds me, did anyone hear any reports of Chavez and Obama hobnobbing down at the recent meeting of Western Hemisphere countries? I'm betting that pair had a, as they say, "productive" meeting! And as I've promoted for some years now secession IS the answer! And I've been totally surprised to hear more and more talk of it in official state circles as well. Ohio just passed a "state sovereignty" resolution. Of course it only works if ALL states sign on to "dropping out" or at least a super-majority of them. The concept is simple with one move your state declares itself seceded from the current union and part of a NEW government based upon the original constitution and the first 13 amendments (no slavery, bunky). Our authority is the Declaration of Independence. And both MUST be done at the same time to prevent the Rockefeller "NewStates Constitution" bunch from subverting a constitutional convention (con-con) and installing their own nightmare version of government. As for Obama having guns, he has already stated his goal of creating a domestic armed police force (complete with concentration camps already authorized for construction) that is 'stronger" than the military! Wow! But most Americans seem to just yawn and pick their teeth at these frightening declarations. |
