Not quite unblemished. I see no sunspots of course, but several
diffuse "gray" circular areas about 1/20th or so the diameter of the
sun, dispersed roughly randomly.

There's a pretty prominent one just to the left of top center; see
it? The rest are not so prominent but about the same size.

Are these actual Solar features, or imaging artifacts?

To respond to my own question, I see no such things on SOHO images:
