Default Day ?J?*10^3 - The Sun is inactive - Global swine flu cases reach 2,000

The visible face of the Sun is without blemish:

The right panel shows the visible face of the Sun as it looked on a good day
during the late Modern Warm Period. Sunspots are the apparent size of
craters on the moon. The left panel shows a Sun as it appears today.

Please write to Al Gore so that Al knows that the Sun is not living up to
his religious expectations. Al Gore is a divinity school dropout. George
Carlin had a better grasp of the true nature of God's creation, than does Al
Gore.

which shows the relative sizes of the Sun and planets. Compared to the Sun,
Jupiter is the size of a pea, earth is the size of a grain of sand.

Global swine flu cases reach 2,000

The World Health Organisation said the number of confirmed swine flu cases
around the world had surpassed 2,000.

WHO raised its tally to 2,099 laboratory-confirmed cases, from 1,893 late on
Wednesday.

It said swine flu has caused 42 deaths in Mexico and two in the US.

Officials said the agency was likely to shorten its annual meeting later
this month from 10 days to five because of the outbreak, which it was
scheduled to discuss.

WHO's 193 member states still must approve the change.

WHO spokeswoman Janet Voute said on Thursday that an official decision on
shortening the May 18-27 World Health Assembly has yet to be made.

Health ministries around the world are busy trying to prevent a pandemic of
the swine flu virus that has now spread to 23 countries.

Mexico has 1,112 laboratory-confirmed cases, and the US has 642, according
to the latest WHO figures.

Canada has reported 201 people infected, Spain has 73 and Britain has 28.
Germany has nine cases, Italy, New Zealand and France have five each, Israel
has four and South Korea and El Salvador have two apiece.

Austria, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Hong Kong, Guatemala, Ireland,
Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland have reported a case each.
