Cold in Florida is proof that the scientists lied and a new ice age is upon
us.

No. By helping trap heat, the enhanced greenhouse effect causes
greater warming of air near the earths surface but greater cooling of
air at higher altitudes.

A greater temperature difference between the two means greater
convection.

Greater convection means that polar air can be pushed further into
temperate regions in winter.

However while Florida is complaining of cold, southern Australia is
experiencing record heat.

The severity of the heat waves is probably due to greater convection
allowing equatorial heat to be transferred further into temperate
regions in summer.

More on that idea here.
