Default Lovelock Admits: Warmists Know Their Case Is Very, Very Weak

Just look at Venus, and you have the perfect environment where there are
clouds, aerosols, and a CO2 rich atmosphere. You don't like it there at
the surface I believe,

The surface pressure on Venus is 92-93 earth atmospheres. That is why the
surface is relatively hotter. At an altitude where the Venus atmospheric is
equal to earth the temperature is closer to earth temperature.

Google Venus and dry adiabatic temperature lapse rate. What is important is
the pressure temperature relationship. Within a gas giant like Jupiter,
temperature increases with greater depth. The composition of a planetary
atmosphere is secondary.

Al Gore has claimed erroneously, that Venus surface is hot because of CO2.
James E. Hansen failed to correct him.

Have a look at James E. Hansen's Ph.D. work:

"THE ATMOSPHERE AND SURFACE TEMPERATURE OF VENUS A DUST INSULATION MODEL"

No one, not even Hansen was able to explain the surface temperature of Venus
in terms of the radiative energy transfer effects of CO2. Hansen chose to
explain it in his Ph.D. thesis work as due to "dust insulation". Hansen
mistakenly believed that the surface pressure of the Venus atmosphere was
'maybe around 10 atm., 20 atm. tops'. Hansen knows **** about meteorology or
thermodynamics.

Al Gore knows zero and Hansen failed to educate him..

The equilibrium temperature of Venus and Earth are about the same, i.e.
not more than a few 10 Kelvin apart, so the radiation balance does not
explain it.

What does explain the difference is the composition of the Venus
atmosphere causing a runaway greenhouse effect resulting in the
situation which we see today.

If you had the same on earth (all carbon airborne, nothing really to
compete it such as nitrogen and oxygen) then we would get a similar
conditions as on Venus.

On Earth we have plenty of nitrogen, AND an oxygen rich atmosphere
created by microbes and photosynthesis, both are not greenhouse gases.
Furthermore there is an ocean which greatly helps to moderate our
situation. The ocean is a huge buffer stabilizing the process.

But if we ever get into a serious runaway situation then our oceans
would start to boil creating conditions similar to that on Venus because
water is a powerful greenhouse gas.
