Winter in Canada is not over yet, fools!

Kelly Bert Manning ) writes: http://climate.weatheroffice.gc.ca/c.../canada_e.html Once again deniers got things exactly backwards, but that is a very old, and oft repeated, story. You are so full of ****, it only took a quick look at your link to prove that Canada has had plenty of snowfall. You lie. http://climate.weatheroffice.gc.ca/c...=2010&cmdB1=Go |

Are you going to let Mexicans tell you when to end your winter?

Are you going to let Mexicans tell you when to end your winter? I'm not sure what your point is. Here in Victoria, BC the farmers tell the Mexicans when winter is over and flowers are ready to harvest, not the other way around. This year that happened at the beginning of February. Vantreight Farms, on the Saanich Peninsula near Victoria, flies in about 60 Mexican Farm workers to pick their millions of field daffodils each year. Historically the daffodils were ready for harvesting by March 1, but 2008 is the only recent year where they were delayed that long. The winter of 2007-2008 was the coldest Candaian winter in 12 years, not that that says much considering how many records for warmth have been set in recent years. When you keep getting record warm winters the bar for coldest since ... gets set farther up the thermometer. The global warming related early blooming happened again in 2009 and 2010: http://www.canada.com/victoriatimesc...e-f793ff290858 "The past two years, the flowers started early, before Valentines' Day. For the third straight year, Vantreight has brought 60 Mexican workers in to pick the crop. Some will stay on picking tulips for the farm and then move on to other farms and nurseries. They are paid an hourly rate, which Vantreight does not disclose, and stay in local hotels where Vantreight helps with the cost." There is a bit of a culture clash between the Mexican workers and the ones who fly in from Quebec. The Mexicans wear hats and jackets, even when it is sunny. The Quebecois farm workers take off their shirts when the sun is shining, but not when it rains. |

It was a ridiculing comment to make Bob F think about his retarded soltice
statement. The point was winter was ended in Central America on March 21 , just north of the equator, also. "Kelly Bert Manning" wrote in message ... I'm not sure what your point is.
