Permafrost melting, which drained nearly 300 lakes and ponds, which destroyed nearly 300 ecosystems, which forced many species (including humans) to relocate or die---- all that has already happened. Sea walls on coastal regions all along the Pacific Rim islands, and parts of California, are being raised due to man- made global warming, and plans are in place to move coastal infrastructures in-land within a few decades in California, Bali, Tonga, and much of French Polynesia Changes have already been catastrophic for the people and other forms of life so far effected. We saw just how good the levees were built in Southern USA. No wonder they want to build better defences. Is this claim of seawalls in the Pacific to replace the claim that the islanders had to move from their home islands ? Any rise in the sea level hasn't shown up on the tide guages |

For one example, California has had to raise the height of retaining walls to protect some of its coastal highways because the Pacific Ocean is 15.9 centimeters higher--- there is a six-to-one ratio in ocean surge, which means not just highway is threatened but also residences. California also plans on moving some of its infrastructure inland due to rising ocean height. Bali is doing the same thing. You're welcome. -- http://desertphile.org Desertphile's Desert Soliloquy. Up to where you mentioned ocean surge in the Pacific (largest ocean- largest storms) your bull**** looked partway convincing. Erosion is and always has been a real problem especially when people have been building infrastructure on the coast. The 'rise' in the ocean levels has occured before as has the 'fall' Check the benching you see at the coast both above and below the current ocean levels Bali is doing the same thing. Again. Coastal protection against erosion! Good idea |

Meanwhile, California is planning on spending over one hundred billion dollars just to fight the effrects of global warming over the next 90 years; they have already spent three billion to combat the 15.9 cm rise. -- http://desertphile.org Desertphile's Desert Soliloquy. Lets see here... The state is 19 billion in debt, and they are spending money on global warming ?? Seriously ?? They better not come to the rest of the states to pay for it ! This is ridiculous ! The country is in dire economic straights and they live in a fairy tale land... -- AM |
