Contrary to popular belief, stretch marks are caused by changes in
hormones rather than the stretching of the skin. Stretching of the
skin plays more of a role in which direction the stretch marks will
develop. If you have bright red stretch marks, this means they are
newly developed. They will fade on their own, but it could take weeks
or even months. Below are some tips to help lighten bright red stretch
marks.
