So what? If sea levels rise, people will move to higher ground, staying within 1 meter of the current high-tide line. If sea levels fall, people will move to lower ground, staying within 1 meter of the current high-tide line. |

So tell us Worm, with a sea rise of two millimeters a year, how long before that 3.7 million find the beach is in their kitchen? I think they have plenty of time to move inland. Of course the proposed trillions of dollars to Bangladesh to "compensate" them for the land lost due to Satan America driving their SUVs and running their electric appliances should work. (as if any of it will EVERY get to ANYONE living in the lowlands) I'm sorry Worm. Is CO2 a "greenhouse gas"? Could you post those links proving it is to us "deniers" again? And I love the ad in your "reference" that urges everyone to learn about the "44 strategies for overcoming skepticism post-climategate" I kid you NOT! THAT is a QUOTE! So AAAS suggests that the way to "advance science" is to learn 44 "strategies" to whitewash the exposure of science fraud in emails? SHAME on AAAS! I trust it is obvious to everyone here that these are 44 political lessons in stonewalling and cover-ups and prevarications. No "science" in sight as usual. Nice reference exposing AAAS as biased, but you are still a liar and fraud. |

I don't know why you are so naive to think that sea level change remains constant. You must not understand cause and effect, Ben I don't know why you are so terrified by something measured in units of mm/year. Could it be you don't know how big a mm is? Could it be you are an old man frightened by any change to anything like Grampa Simpson? Could it be that you are just a trolling twit? |

I don't know why you are so naive to think that sea level change remains constant. You must not understand cause and effect, Ben .... I remember crunching the numbers after the Japan tsunami last year. The distance the wave travels inland is a function of wave height and beachfront slope (and maybe the distro of objects along the beach). But as usual a simple power law is a good approximation. Given a 20 cm SLR last century the wave travelled 10m further inland in some areas, but up to 100m further inland in the worst-hit areas. But usually "damage" is reaconed in terms of how far above current high tide mark large parts of the coast are. In parts of Florida, e.g., quite large areas are less than 1m above even mid tide, so likely face some inundation during leap tides or surge waves. Amusingly, Washington, DC, is among the list of regions that can be threatened in this way right now. -- [Goalpost, goalpost, wherefor art tho?] jimp wrote: Where are the bodies from people dying of thirst? I don't know why you are so naive to think that sea level change remains constant. You must not understand cause and effect, Ben The cause is NOT established, it may be due to under water volcanoes and tectonic shifting or external gravitational change as we line up with the galactic center or a dark Star that makes its 26,000 year journey closest to our sun, making our star system an actual binary star system. It could be causing the water level to be higher or even hiding an actual water level rise that's more than we know. Meaning that you don't know either the cause of what you see, or that it is the effect of what you think it is or as much or less than you think it should be. In short, I wouldn't propose such a crazy claim as Global Warming with so little real DATA to support the hypothesis. -- When it comes to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, there is NO moderation.
