Default Was today's heavy rain forecast?

Was not expecting any rain at all this weekend, was expecting two dry,
warm if fairly cloudy days. So Saturday with its summer-like
temperatures and sun was a pleasant surprise... but I did not expect
any heavy rain today. Got thoroughly soaked on a walk in the New
Forest... how far in advance was it forecast? I didn't see any
indications of rain earlier than midweek in the forecasts of the last
couple of days.

It was forecast to some extent, but the rain was much heavier and more
widespread than expected. The total contrast with Saturday
(when it reached a beautiful 20.1 degrees in unbroken sunshinehere) was not
really predicted.

A certain Mr. Corbett said it had been 'a fine dry weekend' at 17:59 today.
Could have fooled me, I got drenched this afternoon. Apparently it's going
to be foggy in the car again tomorrow morning, especially in East Anglia.
Funny that, it's the moors here which seem to get more fog than the cars.
