Well it's only three days to November and still many of the trees down
here in the south, particularly the milder coastal areas like the New Forest, are at the green-with-only-a-hint-of-brown stage. Could we enter November with some woods still predominantly green? Looks like the peak autumn colours down here will be the first two weeks of November, rather than the last two of October, maybe we could see a repeat of 2001 with the leaves still on the trees almost in December? Let's hope for a lack of gales during the next month... Nick |

A lot of the trees here have lost their leaves already due to the wet,
windy weather of the last few weeks. There are still some green leaves on the ones that haven't though. Richard Slessor, Aberdeen. |
