Well the weather here has got really exciting now.

At 2310 and since 1830 we have had 33.8 mm of rain and the stuff is still coming
down at 5-6 mm/h rate.
Wind has picked up with gales in exposed areas. Peak gust here at 3m agl only 25
knots though due to some shelter.

Driving back from Torquay this evening the roads were awash with local flooding
(bow waves again :-))
Ahoy there me hearties. But things got hairy coming up from Liverton climbing
through a wooded area going up to Ilsington at 2250 the whole of the road was
carpeted in several centimetress of leaves, twigs, branches and the rain was
heaving down it was very very difficult to keep the car going straight as it was
sliding all over the place on the twigs and I nearly came off the road. Lane
outside our house has once again been a river and I dread to think what the moor
must be like now.

I love it really!

COME ON :-)

Total rainfall so far this month 37.6 mm grin

Will.

17.6 mm of rain here in the Exe Valley last night. The temperature has been
rising all night (from a low of 10.5C at 21:00) and was 16.0C at 08:00.

Most of the rivers around here such as the Clyst are flooded, and poor old
Ottery St. Mary has been inundated again from the River Otter despite their
flood protection efforts.

I gather something nasty is brewing out in the Atlantic for this evening and
overnight.

Despite posts to the contrary, the weather has certainly been interesting
doon 'ere this autumn.

Currently at 09:00: 16.2C, RH 87%, DP 14.0C, 1001.2 mb (S), Wind S 5.0 mph.

Hi, Nick,

I think a few are referring to just what you have written - they find
incessant mild, wet weather uninteresting and tedious.

As I have written before, each to his own.

Best wishes,

Ken Cook, Copley 253 metres asl, Nr Barnard Castle, County Durham.

Rivers here are actually quite low still despite recent heavy rain. Mind you
it appears that large areas of inland Devon had around 100mm more rain in
October than west Cornwall, and a lot more last night.

Sun keeps poopping out here, we're right on the western edge of the cloud
sheet. As a result today has already beaten my warmest November day (records
start 1992) Previous record 17.0 in 2001, currently 17.2.
