![]() Peter Thomas wrote: 021105 22335 approx. The biggest and brightest lightning flash I have ever encountered. I ducked in the driving seat. No thunder. The road through Dunsfold heading NW obscured by rain bouncing a foot high, with leaves and tree debris. Couldn't see if larger branches were hidden in this. Much deep standing water. By contrast about 3-4 miles away at Godalming, ten or twenty minutes later, stars visible, some puddles but no sign of the downpour. Apparently it came much earlier here. Glad I left guitar practise in Alfold a bit early. -- Peter Thomas Very odd that such a bright flash should produce no thunder. Stereo on in the car; windows closed, mught be an explanation. Some very heavy brief showers in the evening and later, but no thunder, here in Warlingham at the other end of Surrey. Tudor Hughes. |
