Today has been the warmest November day ever recorded at De Bilt in the
Netherlands - max. temp. 18.7°C. Records started in 1901. 19°C was exceeded at Eindhoven and Maastricht http://www.knmi.nl/voorl/weer/reindex.html?extreem.html October 2005 was the second warmest at De Bilt in a record going back to 1706 - average temp. 13.3°C. Only October 2001 was warmer - average temp. 14.2°C. Third warmest was October 1969 - average 13.0°C On 30th October this year De Bilt reached 21.1°C - the latest date in the year that 20°C has been exceeded there. Colin Youngs Brussels |

Records started in 1901. Off the top of my head, and I lived in Holland for some years, I recall temperatures of 20C in November and also mid-March. Amsterdam. Alan Alan, Amsterdam always is mild compared to other KNMI sites. The facts that its situated in the coastal region, influenced by relatively warm sea, and 'city-effects', do not explain these higher temps completely.
