Some very localised, very slow moving, intense showers formed along the
spine of Cornwall today. Driving back through Cornwall to Penzance this afternoon the road was awash with water just west of the iron bridge on Goss Moor, it had obviously been pouring for some considerable time, yet 5 miles further on not only was it dry, but the road surface was also totally dry all the way to Redruth. Then between Redruth & Hayle another deluge. Just west of Camborne it was white with hail, with water pouring across the road. Between Camborne & Hayle the A30 was closed due to an accident, wether it was due to thw weather conditions I don't know, but it was quite severe. From Hayle onwards the road was dry. Some superb cumulonimbus. Graham. -- Penzance Weather www.easterling.freeserve.co.uk/weather.html |
