I think that every MP and Journalist should be forced to read: "The
Skeptical Environmentalist" by Bjorn Lomborg. We might then get some long overdue common sense applied. I (and my peers) have studied Bjorn's work for quite a while, and he does have a point with regards to clean environments in 1st-world countries, but his views are 'political' with the truth and grossly over-simplistic (and Bjorn knows it but he cleverly realises that he can make money out of it). He seems to have intentionally forgotten the fact that the most advanced countries (with their clean environments) are also the biggest energy consumers and CO2 emitters, thus are the biggest contributors to changing the chemistry of our atmosphere. ________________ Nick G Exe Valley, Devon 50 m amsl |

Quite an acievement really. All of you who drive long distances to work in air conditioned offices where you can't open the windows have helped of course. Graham |
