Sorry to be sounding negative, but I am getting the impression that Friday
may not be as wintry/arctic as people originally thought.

Yesterday, the runs all show the British Isles completely and quite
comfortably sub 528dam with a lovely arctic wind.

The latest runs show the 528 line breaking up, thus the thickness increasing
making for a somewhat less severe cold snap.

Sorry to spoil the fun.

Believe me, I hope I'm wrong

Brendan

Who knows? But I don't intend to be out in shirt sleeves on Friday -

I think it is a case of wait and see - the detail of these charts seems
to be all over the place at the moment. Indeed some of the charts
beyond next weekend are producing charts the like of which I've never
seen before on GFS - some out to beyond 10 days (i know they're usually
fairy tales) have vigourous lows centred over the North Sea. If some of
them come to pass the consequences for the east coast do not bear
thinking about...

All I'll say is ....
Northerlies *usually* disappoint for the bulk of the UK.
And the fact it's still November...
I can't see there being much snow at lower levels away from Scotland.

Nothing's changed as far as I can see. The track and depth of the low
running down the North Sea is open to some uncertainty, other than that the
predicted cold plunge looks pretty solid at this stage.

Certainly the T+120 for Friday doesnt show the wind quite as strong, and
some of the troughs have disappeared.

Did say it could change - which it will again no doubt!
