Why do different forecasters with access to the same data and the same
supercomputers come up with such wildly differing forecasts? I'm looking at the BBC, CNN and Yahoo forecasts for London at the moment, and they all say completely different things. I also look at the forecasts for Tenerife South, where I have an apartment. Just about every time I look, the above sites forecast rain and thunderstorms - and yet it has a desert climate where there's often no rain for months. Are the forecasters actually familiar with local conditions in places like this? |

I would hazard a guess that no forecaster has been near any of the forecasts you mention, they will be direct model output. -- Stuart Brooks Carluke South Lanarkshire 221m amsl webcams at www.brooks22.plus.com/index.htm Webcam: http://www.brooks22.plus.com |
