November. Cold and very sunny - the coldest since 1998. After a mild,
unsettled beginning, it became anticyclonic, drier, and colder, with some sharp frosts at night. A northerly outbreak near the end of the month brought the first snow. The month saw 68.0 mm of precipitation. Along with 1996, there was a record number of air frosts for November (14). 10-11 November. A notable gale on the Thursday night and particularly Friday afternoon - a neighbour records a gust of over 60 mph. The 10th was the warmest day of the month, with 12.3C. 13 November. The first air frost of the year -0.1C. 18 November. The coldest night of the month, with -3.7C. 24 November. After a quiet, dry, if cold spell, with some sharp frosts at night, the winds pick up and turn to the north, and we have the first snow flurries of the winter. 25 November.
